EVault iSeries Agent is a welcome addition to any IBM iSeries Administrator. EVault's iSeries provides a reliable, easy to manage, and cost efficient solution for protecting critical data.
Automated and secure, EVault’s disk-to-disk backup eliminates labor-intensive manual and error-prone tasks that are associated with traditional tape backup solutions.
Working in concert with EVault InfoStage® Director and taking advantage of EVault’s DeltaPro™ technology, the iSeries Agent protects native Objects, DB2 databases, IFS data and system data delivering a full DR solution. Upon completion, backups are immediately off-site, secure, and available for recovery or testing.
The iSeries Agent is able to significantly reduce backup times compared with traditional tape-based solutions, Compression of native data typically averages 10:1 and means that less data needs to be transferred to a remote vault.
Parallelization can also be achieved on restore, allowing faster restore times when compared with traditional tape-based off-site backup solutions. IBM’s “On Demand” feature can also by used to activate more CPU to speed up the restore even further.
